RE-THINKING DESIGN: ELEVATING CIRCULAR PRACTICE IN INTERIORS
October 1, 2025 | By The Textile Company | News
The Textile Company recently hosted ReThinking Design: Elevating Circular Practice in Interiors, an inspiring evening that brought together designers, architects and industry leaders to explore how creativity and sustainability can work hand in hand. Held in partnership with ReLove, a purpose-led charity that furnishes homes for people in crisis using rescued, high-quality furniture, the event celebrated conscious design and meaningful impact within the interiors industry.
As proud partners of ReLove, The Textile Company is contributing surplus textiles to support the charity’s mission of transforming over 1,000 homes each year, diverting more than 2,500 tonnes of waste from landfill, and reinvesting millions of dollars’ worth of goods back into communities. Joining other like-minded brands including Jardan, Coco Republic and Leif, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to rethinking waste and driving sustainable change.
The evening featured an engaging panel discussion with Ren Fernando (ReLove Co-Founder), Tanya Buchanan (Editor-in-Chief, Belle Magazine) and Charlotte Wilson (Senior Associate Interior Design, SJB), who explored the role of designers as changemakers and how reuse can be positioned as a form of conscious luxury. Guests also enjoyed a lively networking session and fundraising initiatives, including a raffle and cushion sale, with all proceeds supporting ReLove’s ongoing work.
The event was a resounding success—sparking meaningful conversations, inspiring circular thinking, and strengthening the connection between design and social good. Attendees left with fresh ideas for embedding sustainable practices into their work and a renewed sense of purpose in using design to create positive, lasting change.
